Dear Wyndford Family,
March has brought with it all the energy of change – cosmos blooming across the Eastern Free State, inspiring new connections, and meaningful momentum across our community. From landmark events and treasured birthdays to bold new ideas, here’s what made this month one to remember.
Surrender Hill Marathon – A Milestone Moment
Fouriesburg welcomed more than 750 runners to this year’s Surrender Hill Marathon. The event was a huge success and a beautiful reminder of our landscape’s power to challenge and inspire.
Next year, we’re aiming even higher: 1,500 runners. The date is already set – 7 March 2026 – so mark your calendars and spread the word. Wyndford is offering group rates for running clubs and teams keen to join us for this special weekend.
Cosmos in Bloom – The Free State in Full Colour
March has gifted us one of nature’s finest displays. The cosmos are in full bloom, with fields of soft pink, white and magenta stretching across the region. It’s a gentle reminder of the magic that surrounds us – and a perfect time for a scenic road trip or countryside escape.
Fouriesburg Tourism NPC AGM – Rooted in Community
This month we co-hosted the first official AGM of the Greater Fouriesburg Tourism NPC, held at the breathtaking Meiringskloof. With 57 founding members already signed up, we’re building real momentum toward making Fouriesburg a leading destination in the Free State.

Suits & Sneakers at Wyndford – Big Ideas, Beautiful Conversation
We were honoured to host the Suits & Sneakers group, founded by Mark Sham, well known for his Like a Tourist initiative.
Incredible entrepreneurs and leaders from across industries gathered at Wyndford for a weekend of learning, sharing, and thinking differently.
What a privilege to be part of a community that values curiosity, innovation, and connection. We left inspired and deeply grateful.

A Special Birthday
This month, my father, Joseph du Plessis, turned 50. His presence at Wyndford, and in our lives, is something we treasure deeply. Here’s to the years ahead, built on the strength of those who came before us.
