New Beginnings, Fresh Faces – January at Wyndford!
Dear Wyndford Family,
A new year brings new beginnings, and January has been nothing short of eventful here at Wyndford Holiday Farm! With new team members, fresh projects, and exciting plans for the months ahead, we’re setting the stage for a wonderful year filled with joy and adventure. Here’s what we’ve been up to this month.
Farewell, Lourens.
This month, we said goodbye to Lourens, who has been an integral part of our Wyndford team. While it’s hard to say goodbye, we wish him every success in the future. Lourens, thank you for all your hard work – you’ll always be part of the Wyndford family!

Our Team is Growing!
We’re thrilled to introduce some new faces to the Wyndford team:
• Jancke van den Berg – Our new marketer, ready to promote Wyndford’s magic far and wide.
• Shawn Oosthuizen – Maintenance assistant, ensuring that every corner of Wyndford stays in excellent condition.
• Matthew McCallum – Wyndford intern, eager to dive into our daily operations and bring fresh ideas.
We’ll be featuring them in upcoming newsletters, so stay tuned to learn more about their stories and contributions.

What’s Happening at Wyndford?
Six New Baby Piglets!
Our farm continues to grow with the arrival of six adorable baby piglets. They’ve quickly become a favourite among guests, and you’re welcome to meet them during your next visit!

Fresh Produce from the Garden
To provide our guests with the freshest, farm-to-table meals, we’ve been hard at work planting a variety of vegetables:
• Carrots
• Tomatoes
• Lettuce
• Spring onions
• Baby marrows
• Cabbage
• Beets
We look forward to sharing the fruits (and veggies) of our labour with you during your next stay!
Tree Pruning for Guest Safety
We recently completed an important project to protect our buildings and improve safety by pruning trees around the property. With the help of a tree expert who worked diligently over three days, we’ve ensured that no overhanging branches will cause damage to roofs or create hazards during storms.

Lighting Up Wyndford
To enhance guest comfort and safety, we’re in the process of adding new lighting throughout the property. Whether you’re enjoying an evening stroll or simply relaxing outside, the new lights will help create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
St. Dominic’s College Visits Wyndford
We had the pleasure of hosting students from St. Dominic’s College, who enjoyed a memorable visit filled with nature walks, farm activities, and plenty of fresh air. We always love welcoming groups that share in the natural beauty of Wyndford!

Restoring Beauty at The Willow and Swimming Pool
Our picnic tables at The Willow and swimming pool area recently underwent a full restoration to enhance guest comfort and ensure durability for years to come. The tables were carefully sanded down to remove weather damage and then resealed with a protective coating, bringing out the wood’s natural beauty. This process not only revived their appearance but also added a layer of protection from the elements, creating a warm and inviting space for guests to relax and enjoy outdoor meals. We’re thrilled to see these tables looking as good as new!

Canning and Preserving Our Homegrown Pears
We’re excited to share that Wyndford has begun canning and preserving pears straight from our very own orchard. Being one of only four farms in the area with pear trees, we take pride in carefully preparing and preserving this delicious fruit using traditional methods. The pears are gently cooked and canned in a light syrup to lock in their natural sweetness. Whether served as a dessert or paired with cheeses, our home-canned pears are a farm-fresh delight for our guests to savor.

What’s Around the Corner?
We have plenty of exciting events and specials to look forward to:
• Valentine’s Day Getaway Special – Our “Seasons of Love” Valentine’s Weekend offers romantic experiences and discounts based on years of marriage. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate your love in the beauty of Wyndford.
• Surrender Hill Marathon (March 8) – A scenic race through the countryside, with prizes for the top runners.
• Clarens Craft Beer Festival (Feb 28–March 1) – Just a short drive from Wyndford, this festival is perfect for beer enthusiasts and fun seekers alike.
