What a treat to be able to have guests for Easter!

Welcoming familiar faces and watching new guests make friends. Laughter, fun, walking, peace and of course lots of eating – especially chocolate! Sitting quietly on the top of a mountain somehow helps to put life into perspective… or maybe a snooze while pretending to read!

Simba with his catering team, Daniel, Lydia, and all, did us proud – especially with our Easter carrot cake and misbehaving chocolate bunnies who kept sliding off – but was scrumptious even so! Amazing also to have a braai on Saturday with pork ribs, rump steak and boerewors, cheese grillers and porkies… all home grown! We are also watching carefully to check if our cows are indeed pregnant from our bully bull and we look forward to once again being able to supply our own milk and watch the joy of kids learning how to milk a cow!

The horses were kept busy as were the bunnies (it was their weekend after all). Rocky made it to the chin of the tortoise one day and then ran round to the new farm with the kids as everyone came for sundowners on the lawn. Great excitement as they rounded up the sheep and cows, fed and watered them and tucked them up for the night (and not only the kids, I might add!!).

For those of you who have not heard, we are heartbroken to tell you that Molly in her enthusiastic enjoyment of life broke her back and we had to say our goodbyes. She will be so missed – especially by George, Sprocket and I. We are grateful for her sparkle, love, enthusiasm and joy for life she shared with everyone.
