Time is Marching on…
It seems like yesterday we were all celebrating the new year and now we’re into the third month. In keeping with the New Year theme of celebrating Wyndford’s Scottish roots we have dressed the summerhouse in tartan! It lends a cheerful air to teatimes… and a nod to the continuance that is the graceful old lady called Wyndford! Thanks to all who have shared their pictures and memories with us – keep them coming so that we can add them into a coffee table book! Here is one from Leisl Hendry…Saturday Sausage sizzle is being fired up as I write, while watching parents trotting behind swishing horse tails up the drive. (Our socialite who is Milly, is revelling in so many little people – Rocky breathes a sigh and relaxes back under the desk). The afternoon entertainment (not sure how much fun the sheep thought it was) was a trip to put all the animals inside for the night. A flock of woolie bodies bounding up the road with a gaggle of kids hot on their tails! Of course the bumpy ride on the back of the bakkie to get there was an essential part of the experience.More and more are we delighted to be able to serve vegetables and fruit that is home grown. It might never win any prizes for the most perfect or the biggest (recent carrot a good example) but tasty and organic! Now we just have to work a little more on quantity as well as quality, that is if we can contain the rampant watermelon plants…We are grateful to see our bed nights pick up a little for the first two months of the year and appreciate you all choosing to spend your holidays with us. We will continue to polish the gem that is Wyndford, and strive for family fun, fabulous food and friendly service. Book now for the holidays so as not to be disappointed. See you soon!
