Wyndford News – May 2022

The Merry Month of May, has arrived and time for a little bit of Madness!

From the 9th May to the 6th June – ONE FREE NIGHT for every booking of two nights or longer…

Inclusive of all meals and teas (yes really!) Come and enjoy the crisp Autumn days in the Eastern Free State, amazing scenery in the mountain and wonderful evening skies.

Our guests enjoyed a damp Easter, although it didn’t deter kids on the Easter Egg hunt…The Saturday braai had to be served from the summerhouse and the Sunday dessert buffet is once again back in action!

There are a few things that pre Covid were staples at Wyndford. The rolls of curled butter, the sharing of tables – where many long standing friendship are forged, the Sunday evening buffet desserts and lunch time salads, white table cloths and serviettes – so it is a treat to be able to reintroduce some of these.

Braai and bales…

This past Sunday we at least managed to have the Saturday sausage sizzle under the willow at the pool. And of course ice cream cones for pudding, which the boys enjoyed (although it would seem you get more ice cream in a bowl…)

Also this last weekend we introduced bale races at Wyndford. Lots of fun was had, moms and dads as well as the kids… never did hear the tally of the number of kids you can get on top of a bale. Since introduced… we have seen the bull sneaking into that paddock and rolling the bales – great way to get rid of steam, I guess! Still waiting to catch it on film… watch this spot!

Fun and games…

Due to the rains we have not been able to access agate bank in Ibis gorge but slowly we are making gains in clearing the path and we’re grateful to our skilled tractor driver who has managed to keep Bob (our tractor – what do you mean yours doesn’t have a name?) out of the Caledon!

We are so excited to introduce Felix to you all – he is waiting in reception to welcome you. He is an adult cat who we have adopted, knows how to sort out the dogs (has a frilly ear due to an altercation with a pit bull – pit bull lost), very affectionate… tree climbing needs work…

Have a look at our accommodation page to see what we can offer you!
