November news from the farm…

We, like so many around the country have eagerly awaited the rains and feel a bit like a fairy dancing on her toes trying to capture the clouds as they scud overhead ….and then they move on.  Yesterday was a spectacular display, great for pictures, but unfortunately did not leave us with more than a few drops on the farm.

Taking a drive or a walk to the other end of the farm, is a wonderful place to listen to the birds, the river trickling (just) past, and gaze upon the mountains…. A good soul space!  We share it with you …..

We had a very successful and happy (if the chatter in the dining room was anything to go by) bowls week. The green played well, hats off to Joseph our head gardener, and the weather was bright.  We salute our overall winner, Letitia Visser, and look forward to welcoming you all back next time.

Our reindeer have come out of hibernation (really, they do!) been dusted off and are getting new coats for Christmas.

After ten years of amazing Christmas cakes from Mrs Callister, this year we are having a go ourselves.  Much ‘googling’ and giggling!!

We also found the perfect Christmas present for Molly … watch this space….!
And to close… allow us to brag a little!  We served our own lamb for lunch accompanied by our own garden spinach and carrots  – to finish – Rhubarb (also from the garden) Crumble and fresh cream (thanks to Cappachino the cow!) Yum!
Enjoying all of this for a two night stay for two out of season will be Johnny Elsegood, who is our monthly draw winner.  Whoop whoop, come and enjoy!
Until we see you …. (to those that are already counting the sleeps!) stay well and travel safe if you are on the move over the festive period.
